Lip Piercings
A strange fact about lip piercings is that the surface of the lip is seldom penetrated. Depending upon the specific positions, lip piercings have special names: ‘Monroe piercings’ include little studs which are worm just over the upper lip; in ‘medusa piercings’, jewellery is worn in the vertical groove above (philtrum) the upper lip and the term ‘labret piercings’ is used for all other kinds of lip piercings.
